These are my people. The reasons for what I do each day.

Growing up, I always wanted to be a mom. I would have never imagined that this is what motherhood would look like. Some days are exhausting, some days are full of laughter, and other days all I want to do is hide in my bedroom with a pint of

Ben + Jerry's to escape the madness. I'm pretty sure every parent has a secret treat stashed away.  Am I right?  You're thinking of that treat right now, aren't you? (hmmm, Oreos...)

I'll be honest with you, I never had aspirations of being a photographer. I wanted to be a pediatrician. I wanted to spend time with kids, helping them be happy and seeing them smile. Turns out though, when you visit the doctor it's because you're sick, which means you are not very happy. Who knew? Lucky for me, I found a different way to help kids smile, and it's a lot more fun!

The very first time I picked up a camera was for our oldest daughter's newborn pictures in 2011. I borrowed a DSLR camera from my brother, (thinking that I would be able to figure it out on the spot) in hopes of getting some beautiful images of our rainbow baby. The pictures from that experience, are in no way award winning, but they were the springboard that put me on the path to where I am today.

Right now, if I'm not behind my camera, I am probably dancing to Disney songs with my kids, or snuggling with my husband on the couch (what did we ever do before Netflix?). I love going to the gym, and try to eat healthy, but sometimes we eat popcorn for dinner. Life isn't always perfect, and it shouldn't be. It is those imperfections that make you unique.

If you're dying to hear more, here are five random things you might not know about me:

1- I come from a family with eight kids, so I know what it's like to grow up in a circus. Which also means I am the last person to judge the cleanliness of your house when I arrive for a newborn session. I KNOW what a mess actually is. Ha!

2- I am a firm believer that potatoes are the best food on the planet. Don't believe me? Answer me this: what other food can you mash, fry, bake, and/or hash and it will remain ridiculously delicious?

3- I did gymnastics for over 15 years, and can still do the splits!

4-  My husband and I met on a blind date. The person that set us up? An ex-boyfriend of mine. Yep, it's true!

5- I hate shoes, and would go hiking in flip flops if I could.

Still here? Send me a message!
