Mommy-ing is hard! Can I get an amen?! As a mom, you are trying to raise human beings to become responsible adults. Adults that are kind, smart, honest, and motivated, just to name a few ideal qualities. That's a lot of pressure!
Nothing tests the resolve of a mother like a good ol' fashioned quarantine. No matter how much you love somebody, you CANNOT be around them 24/7, seven days a week. I love my kids, but I would REALLY love for this quarantine to be over. This momma needs a Target run!
Let's look at life in quarantine, through the eyes of this stay-at-home mom.
Can I have a snack?
Five of the worst two words ever uttered in the English language. Anyone else feel like their kids are ALWAYS hungry?
No alarm necessary.
Thankfully, this is not an accurate representation of what it's like to wake up around here. I'd probably lose it if this happened. Lose what you ask? Whatever is left of my sanity.
You can't even go to the bathroom without an entourage.
Do you yearn for a few minutes of peace? Do you find escape in the most random of places? Keep lookin' momma, there's no place you can go that they won't find you - and ask you for a snack.
Don't forget the fun!
In all seriousness, being a mom is "da bomb!" Is that even a saying anymore? Whatever. Wow, I'm really aging myself here.
Yes, there are difficult moments. Yes, there are always chores to do around the house (notice the weeds that are in desperate need of pulling here). But there is also JOY. There is also FUN. There is also unconditional LOVE that radiates from each of your kids' faces. Don't let the sour moments ruin the sweet ones. And make as many sweet moments as you can. Your kids won't stay little forever, so ENJOY IT - messy faces, untidy rooms and all!
What are your days looking like? Is any of this familiar? I'd love to hear about it!
